The Inspiration
the main inspiration stemmed from visiting a Refik anadol installation at the museum of modern art, nyc. this exhibit inspired me to explore the possibilities of integrating code with design to explore and understand the human experience.
The Process
The entire project was heavily experimental and technical. Testing things, blowing things up, laughing, crying, but overall a success at exploring had to integrate coding and ai programs to produce interactive art.
The Experience
Distortion ban interactive camera mirroring a self portrait of anxiety in isolation. these wavelengths capture both motion and audio inputs and translate them exponentially based on the user's intensity. this is an abstract depiction of what anxiety feels like in times of forced isolation, being surrounded by nothing but our thoughts and uncertainty of the future.
outbreak The complexity and subtlety of the emotional data and text prompt inputs are captured and translated into stunning visuals that capture the essence of what it means to express emotions. four passes of ai generated dreams are cut, trimmed, and composited all together to flow seamlessly. inputs were driven by key words and controlled by the statistical values given by research.
emotion by interacting with the particle system, visitors can explore and visualize their experiences in a unique and personal manner, using their own movements as a paintbrush to share their narrative through an emotional performance. the user has the ability to control the particle systems from touchosc on an ios device, making each experience personal, one of a kind, and provides unhalted freedom of self expression.
